South Beach (SoBe)

South Beach or SoBe is comprised of numerical streets which run east-west starting at 1st Street through the largely pedestrianized Lincoln Road(between 16 and 17th). It also has 13 principal roads and avenues running north-south including Bay Road, West Avenue, Alton Road, Lenox Avenue, Jefferson Avenue, Meridian Avenue, Euclid Avenue, Pennsylvania Avenue, Drexel Avenue, Washington Avenue and Ocean Drive. There are also three smaller avenues named Park, Liberty and James. The reflection of SoBe residents is evident in the various languages spoken. In both daytime and night time it is a major entertainment destination with hundreds of nightclubs, restaurants, boutiques and hotels. South Beach has become one of the most popular national and international tourist meccas. A car free lifestyle is commonplace. Many residents get around by walking, biking or busing. And topping it all off South Beach is one of the most important spots in the world for the presence of Art Deco architecture.
